Welcome to Transition Year Philosophy

Philosophy was introduced to the Transition Year course in 2011-2012 and due to the continued positive feedback from students and parents/guardians, it is on offer, again, to the Transition Year students of 2017-2018.
Philosophy is a popular subject choice for students opting to study for an Arts/Humanities degree at college/university. It can be taken as a stand alone subject or with a variety of other liberal arts subjects, the most popular combination is with English Literature, History and Theology.
Currently, this subject runs on a module basis, running on a rotational basis of approximately 6 to 7 weeks per group.
A project, based on the content of the course, will be submitted towards the end of the module. This is important in order to get marks for your report and overall grade. Depending on the kind of project you have completed, you may wish to have this as part of your T. Y. portfolio.
This website will develop as the module progresses over the coming weeks and months ahead. Any presentations or videos, shown in class, will be posted here.
I hope that everybody enjoys the course: you need to bring an open mind to the class and question everything.
